Possibility of a Strict Lockdown says Thackeray
Due to increased cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra, CM Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that strict lockdown measures and restrictions will be put forth in order to control the spread of the virus in state. In some areas we have to take the decision of a strict lockdown as well. The CM commented that, we will take meeting with officials before coming up with lockdown measures. He also said that government is continuously requesting people to maintain social distancing, wear masks and avoid going out unnecessarily. Talking about COVID-19 vaccine, There is no need to worry or get confused about vaccine, he added. He himself got vaccinated against coronavirus infection in the second phase of nation wide vaccination. He pointed out the increased cases in some districts of the state like Nashik, Pune, Nagpur, Akola and Mumbai, and added that everyone take all the precautions and follow the rules strictly. He encouraged people to take covid vaccine, to anyone eligible for it. Maharashtra reached it’s highest 13,659 new cases on Wednesday since 8th October 2020. The state has recorded 22,52,057 cases till now and 52,610 deaths till date. Both the increased cases and death are highest in Maharashtra and even now the cases are increasing rapidly since past two weeks.
