The Indian athletes who qualified for the Olympics will be vaccinated after approval
After the approval of World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Indian athletes who qualified for the Olympics will be vaccinated, said the Indian Olympic Association. “We have also written a letter to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in this regard,” said Rajiv Mehta, secretary of the association.
The corona test was recently conducted on 741 athletes and office bearers who are undergoing guidance at the National Institute of Sports Progress in Patiala and Bangalore. The test found that 30 of them were infected. The affected person does not include any of the athletes who qualified for the Olympics.
Although Olympic-eligible athletes may not have contracted the corona, it is a matter of concern to find patients at the training ground.Olympic qualifiers urgently need to be vaccinated. I have written to the health ministry twice but have not received a reply, said Rajiv Mehta, secretary of the Indian Olympic Association. I had two discussions with Dr. Rajiv Ranjan. They have shown readiness to vaccinate players. Therefore, we will send them an official letter in this regard, said Mehta.
“Before the vaccination of Olympic-eligible athletes, the approval of the World Anti-Doping Agency is required,” said Narinder Batra, president of the federation. An immediate reply is awaited from them. Only then will the vaccination of Olympic-eligible athletes begin, Mehta said.
