India legends becomes Road safety world series champion
Sachin Tendulkar’s India legends gain victory over Tillakaratne Dilshan’s Sri Lanka legends by 14 runs and won the finals of the Road safety world series on shaheed Veer Narayan Singh international stadium in Raipur on Sunday.
Sri Lanka legends won the toss and chose to bowl first, India posted the target of 181/4 runs in 20 overs. In that, Yuvraj Singh did his half-century in just 41 deliveries scored 60 runs including 4 fours and 4 sixes. Whereas Yusuf Pathan had also completed his half-century in 36 deliveries scored 62 runs(not out) he smashed 4 fours and 5 sixes. both the players played fantastically and were the highest scorers for the hosts.
Sachin and Sehwag opened the innings for India L but Sehwag was out in the third over and scored only 10 runs in 12 balls after that Sachin and Yuvraj had a partnership of 43 runs but after that Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed and scored 30 runs in 23 balls. Yusuf Pathan and Yuvraj Singh had a partnership of 87 runs in 47 balls for the fourth wicket. Not only Irfan Pathan but also Yusuf Pathan took 2 wickets in 4 overs.
Sri Lanka legends were trying to chase the target but couldn’t succeed and scored only 167/7 runs in 20 overs. A good start by Dilshan (21) and Sanath Jayasuriya (43)runs in 35 balls hitting big shots, later he was dismissed in the 12th over but quickfire batting from Kaushalya Weeraratne assisted SL to get closer to the target but some good bowling from Indian Legends failed their chance to win the trophy.
