Olive oil : Multifunctional life changer!

Olive oil comes from olives, the fruit of the Olive tree. Olives are a traditional crop of the Mediterranean region. People make olive oil by pressing whole Olives.

It is useful in many things like, in cooking, cosmetics, medicine, soaps, for hair and as a fuel for traditional lamps. Basically Olive oil came from the Mediterranean, but today, it is popular around the whole world.
The antioxidants in olive oil may help protect the body from cellular damage that can lead to a bad health conditions and chronic diseases. Extra virgin olive oil has a bitter flavor, but it contains more antioxidants than others, as it undergoes the least processing. About 14% of the oil is saturated fats, whereas 11% is polyunsaturated, such as omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.
But the predominant fatty acid in olive oil is a monounsaturated fat called oleic acid, making up 73% of the total oil content.
In diet, people preserve olives to eat. People use chopped olives on many dishes like pizza and in salad as well.

There are three types of olive oil :

1) extra-virgin olive oil
2) olive oil

3)light-tasting olive oil.
Regular olive oil can be used in a variety of cooking styles, while extra-virgin can be used for both cold or finishing preparations as well as in cooking. Light-tasting olive oil has a neutral flavor, so you can use it in cooking and baking as well.
