Mumbai Indians beat Hyderabad, once again defends a low total

Mumbai Indians got the victory by 13 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. By batting first, Mumbai gave a total of 151 runs to chase. However, Hyderabad could only manage to make 137 runs in 19.4 overs. This was Hyderabad’s third consecutive defeat in this year’s IPL season. Mumbai has moved up to number one on the table after winning the match.Batting for the first time, Mumbai has challenged Hyderabad for 151 runs. Kieran Pollard’s shot in the last over helped Mumbai to 150 for five in 20 overs. Pollard remained unbeaten on 35 off 22 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes.
Mumbai, who won the toss and elected to bat first, got off to a good start with skipper Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock. The duo helped the team cross the half-century mark in the power play. Hyderabad got their first wicket of Rohit Sharma who scored 32 runs. Suryakumar, who came after him, hit a four and a six, but he could not make a big play. He was dismissed for 10 runs. After this, the Mumbai team played very slowly. Ishan Kishan scored 12 off 21 balls while Quinton De Kock scored 40 off 39 balls. Even Hardik Pandya could not make a big play. He was dismissed for 7 runs. In the end, Pollard’s innings helped Mumbai score 150 runs.
Chasing Mumbai’s 150, Hyderabad got off to an aggressive start. Bairstow and David Warner had started off their innings nicely. Sunrisers were 57/0 at the end of Powerplay.Jonny Bairstow hit hard against the Mumbai bowlers while on the other hand, David Warner gave him support. Jonny Bairstow hit three fours and a six off Trent Bolt’s third over. He scored 43 runs off 22 balls with three fours and four sixes but got dismissed in form of hit wickets. Manish Pandey who came after him played a poor shot and gave his wicket in the next over.David Warner was growing his innings but Hardik Pandya’s accurate throw sent him back and the batting collapse started. Hyderabad’s middle order which does not have much experience got out in quick succession that cost them a defeat.Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult shine as Mumbai Indians once again defend a low total. Pollard got the Man of the Match award for his important knock of 35* runs off 22 balls.
