Impact of technology in Football and Cricket

Football and cricket have always been a game of love and emotions for players, management, and fans.Implementation of Technology in games helps the referee to give the right decision but sometimes unavailability of proper technology also creates controversies in tight matches at a big level.
A few years ago in football, VAR (video assistant referee) was introduced in football. The implementation of technologies in world football came in to prevent crucial refereeing errors. This has changed the results of high-profile matches many times. Both VAR and goalline technology were hence called upon to act to get rid of high-profile errors from the referee in big games. Few surveys have found that 63 percent of people feel that VAR makes the game of football much less enjoyable where 71 percent still believe that VAR should be retained.
Same like football, Cricket also uses advanced technologies like DRS to challenge the decision given by the umpire on-field and ask 3rd umpire to take a close look at the decision by using all technology available. But even having lots of technologies in the game, the umpire’s call matters a lot if the 3rd umpire is not having conclusive evidence to overturn his call. Nowadays the DRS  is used commonly in International matches and tournaments
Technology has lots of pros and cons, for example, VAR shows you replay by various angles to clarify the moment and referee’s/umpires decision, that may change the game but on other hand, it breaks the flow and intensity of the game and players because of the stoppages.
There are different opinions by different experts. Many believe that, in cricket if they are using technologies then they should fully depend on it and the soft signal part should be removed.Attachments area
