England defeated India in 2nd ODI series
India Vs England 2nd one-day international match England gains victory over India by six wickets and leveled the three-match series by 1-1 at Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Pune on Friday.
England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to field again. India gave the excellent performance in the batting, KL Rahul smashed the England bowlers and did his century in 114 deliveries scored 108 runs including 7 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Virat Kohli had also completed his half-century in 79 balls 66 runs with 7 fours 1 six. Rahul and Kohli had a partnership of 121 runs for the third wicket.
Rishab pant also did his half-century and scored 77 runs in just 40 balls. He smashed 7 sixes and 3 fours. Rahul and Rishab had a partnership of 113 runs for the fourth wicket. Whereas Hardik Pandya had scored 35 runs in 16 deliveries including 4 sixes 1 four and he had given his contribution in adding the runs. Rohit Sharma(25) and Shikhar Dhawan(4) failed to add runs for the team. India had thrown down the gauntlet for England of 336 runs for 6 wickets in fifty overs.
England openers slowly and steadily started chasing the target Jason Roy scored 55 runs in 52 deliveries including 7 fours 1six. Jonny Bairstow had completed his 11th century in 112 deliveries scored 124 runs including 11 fours 7 sixes Bairstow and Roy had a partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket. Ben Stokes failed to reach his century and made 99 runs in just 52 balls smashing with 4 fours and 10 sixes played an important role to change the game. Stokes and Bairstow had a partnership of 175 runs in 114 balls for the second wicket. David Malan(16) and Livingstone (27) were not out and helped to reach the target. As England scored 337 runs for four wickets in 43.3 over and won the match. Indian bowlers endeavored to put impact but flopped to stop the England batting order. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one wicket gave 63 runs, Prasidh Krishna gave 58 runs and took two wickets.
