Covid Situation Grim Again
Over the past five days, India has seen the sharpest surge in Covid-19 infections. With the seven-day rolling average of daily cases rising by as much as 39% during this period. The total case tally stands at 1,15,14,331 while the death toll is at 1,59,370 with 154 more people dying in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra, at the centre of India’s Covid advance, registered 25,833 recent cases of the virus, crossing its highest peak of daily cases recorded last year. The best range of novel coronavirus cases registered within the state was 24,886 on 9/11. whereas Maharashtra rumoured fifty-eight fatalities, it recorded twelve, 764 recoveries on a weekday .With Punjab witnessing a second wave of novel coronavirus infections, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh extended the night curfew by two hours within the state’s 9 worst-affected districts .The next phase of Covid-19 vaccination will be commenced on 1st March for those who are above 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specified comorbid conditions.
