Chelsea reached the finals by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final
The Blues reached the finals by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final by 1-0. The City’s hope of the quadruple is now over. This is the fourth time in five seasons that Chelsea reached the finals of the FA Cup. Manchester City had won their last 11 FA Cup semi-finals.Chelsea dominated the first half but failed to score any goal. At the beginning of the first half at the 6th minute, Chelsea’s Goal was denied by VAR. Kepa saved his first in the match, where Jesus drifted on the left area. The first Yellow card of the match was given to Reece James as he hacked down Fernandinho. The first half got over and both the teams failed to score. Kevin De Bruyne was substituted at the start of the second half as he was suffering from an ankle injury. Phil Foden came in replacement of De Bruyne. Chelsea finally scored after so many chances. In the 55th minute, with the help of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech scored the goal with a left foot near the penalty spot. With this, Ziyech has scored his fifth goal for Chelsea. In the 59th minute, Ziyech missed a chance to score a goal as he was not able to finish it nicely. Fernandinho was given a yellow card a few minutes after Chelsea scored. Chelsea’s manager, Thomas Tuchel smartly switched to the defensive by bringing the defenders as a substitution. With extra six minutes given in the second half, City was unable to score and handed the match to Chelsea.
