Bunty aur Babli 2 release postponed

The release of Aditya Chopra’s upcoming film Bunty aur Babli 2 has been postponed due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. The film which was supposed to be released on April 23rd is being postponed due to the second wave of coronavirus across the country, new restrictions and lockdown being implemented. As Aditya Chopra wants to hold the film and put it in the theatres at more opportune time, the release date is yet not confirmed. 

           Bunty Aur Babli 2 will introduce an incredibly fresh pair, Siddhant Chaturvedi, the Gully Boy hunk who played the role of MC Sher with Elan, is the new Bunty and YRF is launching a new heroine to watch out for with this franchise. Babli will be played by Sharvari whom YRF discovered two years back and has been grooming her since then.

     Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to twitter to reveal the big news. He captioned, “Aditya Chopra is playing the big game of making theatricals make a huge comeback and he is extremely confident that Bunty Aur Babli 2 will entertain the whole of India. The film is a popcorn entertainer that the entire family can watch and enjoy. He wants to hold the film and not release it at a time when the country is experiencing a huge spike of COVID-19 cases. He wants to keep an eye on the vaccination drive and see how India controls the virus spread in the days to come”. Trade Pundit added, “It is the correct strategy to hold good films and not put them out at a time when there is so much uncertainty about how the pandemic will spread. Bunty Aur Babli 2 will also be big in the overseas territories so one needs to calculate all these factors. It is definitely the correct move”.

     The source informed, “When you have a big film at hand, it is important to put it out at the correct time so that it can reach out to the maximum number of people. Big films will pull people in the theatre post the pandemic and one need to be careful about their release dates because films like Bunty Aur Babli 2 will greatly contribute towards restarting the industry”.

        Bunty Aur Babli 2, directed by Varun Sharma, is the sequel to the 2005 blockbuster, Bunty Aur Babli in which Saif Ali khan and Rani Mukherjee played the Bunty and Babli character. Saif and Rani was a blockbuster Jodi as they delivered big hits like Hum Tum and Ta Ra Rum Pum and were celebrated as a pair to watch out for given their superb chemistry.
