For the 31st time in their history, Barcelona has won the Copa del Rey Spanish Cup by defeating Athletic Bilbao by 4-0. The Argentina star, Lionel Messi. Scored two goals for the team and confirmed the win for the cup.Athletic Bilbao lost the last year’s Copa del Rey too. They played against Real Sociedad by 1-0. This year, Athletic defeated Levante with an aggregate of 3-2 to reach the finals while Barcelona too defeated Sevilla by 3-2. The last time Barcelona won the Copa del Rey title was in 2018.Starting the final match, Barcelona changed its starting lineup. Araujo and Dembele were benched and replaced by Pique and Griezman. Barcelona was dominating from the beginning of the first half. The Athletic forwards Raul Garcia and Williams were hardly able to touch the ball in the first half. At the 36th minute, Messi was injured following a collision with Dani Garcia. After two minutes Dani again challenged Messi with a slide and was given a yellow card by the referee. In the first half, both teams failed to score any goals.At the 60th minute, Griezman scored a goal where Frenkie de Jong assisted him very well. Just after three minutes, Frenkie de Jong scored a brilliant goal. The Barca skipper did not hold back as he scored a goal in the bottom left corner of the net to make it a 3-0. And finally, at the 72nd minute, Messi again scored where Jordi Alba assisted him and the match came to an end with a 4-0 score.
