Aero India 2021
Bengaluru hosted 13th edition of Aero India International Air Show, from February 3 to February 5, 2021. The air show was organised by Defence Research and and Development Organisation (DRDO).The event was inaugurated by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Three Mi-17 helicopters took part in fly past during the inauguration of Aero India-2021.The DRDO displayed its latest defence technologies and demonstrating its systems in the air show. Major systems of the 13th edition of air show were, Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C), Light Combat and Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and LCA Navy.According to government, the exhibition is organised every alternate year in India. It is a major exhibition for aerospace and defence enthusiasts with a public air show. Aero India expands the market insights and allow new developments.The air show was organised with accordance of Covid-19 guidelines. Though some of the digital initiatives implemented are utilising mobile applications, geo locations, stagger break times for support personnel and introducing additional space in food courts.The Karnataka government department of Industrial Training and Employment (DITE) in collaboration with Tata Technologies showcased their initiative- Transformation of 150 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into technological hubs- during the event. According to a release, the civil and technological upgradation of the ITIs to be utilised as skill development centres for young students. The ITI transformation programme in under Karnataka Government to create a highly skilled workforce and attract more investments.
