India captain Virat Kohli has been crowned for the best ODI player of the last decade

India captain Virat Kohli, who was lauded for his consistent performance on Thursday, has been crowned. Virat Kohli was named the best ODI player of the last decade (2010 to 2020) by Wisden Almanac.
 The International Cricket Council (ICC) had earlier announced the award for the best cricketer of the decade. Virat Kohli was also named the best male cricketer of the decade.Virat Kohli made his international debut in 2008. He played his first ODI against Sri Lanka.
Over the past decade, it has emerged as Team India’s ‘run machine’. Team India won the 2011 World Cup under Dhoni, of which Virat was a member. He has scored more than 11,000 runs and scored 42 centuries in the last decade. He also has 12,169 runs in 254 matches to his name, including 43 centuries and 62 fifties.
 Meanwhile, for the second year in a row, England all-rounder Ben Stokes was named ‘Player of the Year’. Last year, Stokes scored 641 runs and took 19 wickets. West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard was named the best T20 player along with Stokes, while Australia’s Beth Mooney was named the best female cricketer. Along with Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev have also been honoured. Tendulkar of the 90s and Kapil Dev of the 80s were selected as the best cricketers. Sachin was in excellent form in the 90s. He set a record of nine centuries in ODI cricket in 1998. In the 80s, Kapil Dev helped Team India win the World Cup. He also held the record for most runs with a strike rate of 1,000.
