IPL 2021: A week-long quarantine for Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai
For serving week-long mandatory quarantine ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders cricketers have started assembling in Mumbai.
Dinesh Karthik, the former KKR captain, Varun Chakravarthy, Rahul Tripathi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Sandeep Warrier, and Vaibhav Arora were among the first to arrive.On Saturday, support staff arrived at the hotel, including assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and assistant bowling coach Omkar Salvi.
Players like Eoin Morgan, Shubman Gill, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna, who is playing in the three-match ODI series between India and England in Pune, will be able to join their respective franchises with a bubble-to-bubble shift without having to serve another quarantine.
The BCCI guidelines state that “players coming directly from the Bubble formed for India vs. England series can be allowed to join the franchise squad without completing the requisite quarantine time, given they meet the following conditions.”
Kolkata knight Riders who are two-time champions of the IPL finished at the 5th position on the points table with only seven wins in the last year’s IPL edition. They will open their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chennai on 11th April.Attachments area
