Rekha Jare Murder Case: Prime Accused Bal Bothe Arrested After 3 Months
Ahemdnagar police filed a 1400-page chargesheet last month. Six people were accused in this murder case. A team of six police officials was working towards the arrest of the accused. The prime accused Bal Bothe was arrested on friday in Hyderabad and brought to Ahmednagar on saturday morning.

Bal Bothe who was the prime accused in the murder case of a woman NCP worker Rekha Jare (39) was arrested on friday in Hyderabad after three months of the murder. Bal Bothe was working as a journalist with a regional daily in Ahmednagar. He was produced before the court on Saturday, according to an official.
The Murder Of Rekha Jare, What is the case?
Rekha Jare was the president of the Yashaswini Mahila Brigade. The murder happened on November 30, 2020 in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. Rekha Jare was returning home from Pune with her mother, Son and a friend when two bikers got into an argument with her. As the fight intensified two assailants slit her throat and fled the scene. The son of the deceased Kunal took the photograph of one of the attackers. Rekha was left bleeding on the road at Jategaon Phata in Parner Tahsil of Ahmednagar.
The Ahmednagar police searched for three months in seven states and more than 100 premises. A multi-agency operation was carried out in the search of Bal Bothe. Police have also arrested five others – Janardan Akula Chandrappa, a lawyer from Ranga Reddy in Telangana; Rajshekhar Chakali, a 25 – year- old from Mustafabad in AP; Shaikh Ismail (30) and Abdul Rehman (52), both from Ranga Reddy; and Mahesh Tanpure from Ahmednagar – under IPC section 212 for harbouring Bothe while he was on run. A manhunt has been launched for another suspect who also had helped Bothe.
Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail, following which Ahemdnagar declared him as absconding and initiated the process of attaching his immovable assets. 1400 pages chargesheet in the case was filed on 26 February before the Ahmednagar court.
“We have arrested the accused (Bal Bothe) from Hyderabad. Preliminary probe has revealed that he feared that Jare would ‘expose’ him by filing a police complaint. So he decided to eliminate her” said Manoj Patil, Superintendent of police. “The Mumbai crime branch , led by Jt CP Milind Bharambe, Maharashtra cyber police, Hyderabad, Rajkonda police and some central agencies played a crucial role in helping to nab the accused,” Manoj Patil added.
Before getting arrested from a hotel iin Balajinagar, Bothe had changed his locations eight times.
